The Thirty List || Blog Tour

Everyone has one.
That list.
The things you were supposed to do before you turn thirty.

Jobless, broke and getting a divorce, Rachel isn’t exactly living up to her own expectations. And moving into grumpy single dad Patrick’s box room is just the soggy icing on top of her dreaded thirtieth birthday cake.

Eternal list-maker Rachel has a plan – an all new set of challenges to help her get over her divorce and out into the world again – from tango dancing to sushi making to stand-up comedy.

But as Patrick helps her cross off each task, Rachel faces something even harder; learning to live – and love – without a checklist.

Rachel always has a plan, and failing that - a list, so when she finds everything she has falling apart and suddenly she needs a new list, because the one titled the reasons that suck about been divorced isnt getting her very far, shes got no job and no house - things couldnt be much worse really. As she sets about seeking shared houses and flats, she comes across all sorts of people, ones she shouldnt be living with at her age.

When she meets Patrick and his ideal arrangement surely its too good to be true, no rent in turn of doing a few errands round the house? Perfect. Thats one thing sorted, however, Rachel has another list, things to do pre/post divorce, things she would of never thought of, and with Patricks help, the pair tick of their lists and begin to find themselves.

This is a story about two characters who are finding themselves after finding themselves in a situation neither wanted to be in, its about the search for just been happy - everyday, throw in a cute four year old and an old dog and you have a wonderfully sweet read that melts your heart. I did find myself frustrated at times, and i thought some things were angering, but characters often have a life of their own and were just lucky enough to go along for the ride. Fantastic read.
